Are you a business owner looking for an easy-to-use, reliable, cost-effective accounting solution? Xendoo could be the answer.

As one of the major players in the market, it has established itself as one of the most powerful tools for businesses looking to streamline their accounting process while saving time and money.

In this comprehensive Xendoo review, I’ll take a look at the features, functionality, use cases, and pricing to help you decide if it’s the best choice for your company.

SMB Guide’s Verdict for Xendoo

I’m giving Xendoo a 8 out of 10. While it has many features of similar dedicated online bookkeeping services, I’m turned off because it’s more expensive than competitors.

In this review of Xendoo, I’ve followed SMB Guide’s detailed criteria for evaluating the bookkeeping software.

I was also saddened to see I couldn’t fully demo the software, which impacted my ability to give a thorough review.

This, combined with the number of accounts you can connect and integrations you can use with your account depend on the plan you pay for, is why it doesn’t score higher.

Pricing and Plans

Xendoo offers three pricing plans, with a 10% discount on annual plans.

Xendoo pricing

These plans range from $395 to $995/month before any discounts are applied.

The plans are based on your monthly expense volume and offer a limited number of accounts and integrations. The price point may be out of reach for some businesses.

Essential

The most basic plan offering, Essential, is for businesses just starting and with a limited number of accounts to work with.

Price

  • $395 per month
  • $355 per month when billed annually ($480 savings)

Features

  • Up to 4 bank accounts and credit cards
  • Weekly bookkeeping
  • Dedicated bookkeeping team
  • Cash basis accounting
  • 1 integration

Who it’s for: Businesses with up to $50K in monthly expenses

Growth

The middle-ground plan, and the most popular, is for businesses with between $50,001 and $75,000 in monthly expenses. It offers more features and additional bank accounts and integrations.

  • $625 per month when billed annually ($840 savings)

Scale

General Ledger and Chart of Accounts

Xendoo onboarding

You can sign up for an account and choose your plan, but you won’t be able to do anything with the account until you complete your onboarding call with someone on the team.

Unless you’re on the Scale plan, you won’t have a custom chart of accounts available.

Bank Integration and Reconciliation

Xendoo makes integrating your bank and credit card accounts easy, but the plan you pay for determines how many accounts you can connect to at any time.

Because I couldn’t demo the software, I couldn’t determine how well it pulled in the transactions and categorized them.

However, based on how all the other services of similar nature work, I’m willing to say you’re likely to be able to edit categories and move things around as you see fit.

If there’s any question about where something belongs, your bookkeeping team will contact you for clarification before they analyze your data to compile your monthly reports.

Financial Reporting

Inside your dashboard, you can access profit margin and burn rate calculators.

Xendoo Financial Reporting

Without fully demoing the service, I can’t speak to the available financial reporting level.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Management

Xendoo doesn’t offer assistance with invoicing or bill payment. If your business uses accrual method accounting, you can talk to your Xendoo consultant during your consultation to learn more about how it works.

Payroll and Tax Management

Xendoo doesn’t offer payroll or tax management. Instead, they recommend you partner with Gusto and connect your Gusto account to handle all of that in a single dashboard.

User Interface and User Experience

I wasn’t able to fully demo the Xendoo platform, which was a little disappointing for me.

Xendoo interface

From what I could see when I first created the account, everything looked clear and easy to understand.

Of course, that may be different once financials are added, but I’m confident that the support team would be available to assist with any issues you run into.

Integrations, Compatibility, & Supported Platforms

Xendoo is a cloud-based accounting platform you can access from any internet connection device.

Xendoo integrations

It integrates with Xero and QuickBooks, but regardless of the accounting platform you choose, Xendoo manages it for you.

It’s also possible to connect with Gusto to handle your payroll. Other integrations are available, but your chosen plan limits the number of integrations you can use.

For example, you can also integrate with Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Etsy, and Walmart. Xendoo also offers an iOS and Android mobile app, though the apps aren’t as feature-rich as you’d see on a desktop.

Customer Support

Once I signed up and booked an onboarding call, I was automatically given a meeting invite to attend that call.

It makes sense, except the person I was to meet with wasn’t the same person who emailed me and said he’d be my point of contact.

It was a bit confusing. However, when emailing back and forth with my point of contact, I got plenty of support from the team.

Xendoo customer support

There’s a live chat feature to help you get questions answered and get directed to the right person for help.

Xendoo — Unique Features

I couldn’t find anything I would consider truly unique to Xendoo, except for maybe the fact that you can choose between Xero and Quickbooks.

According to many reviews, tax plans appear to be included, which services usually charge extra for.

They offer add-on services like catch-up bookkeeping to help you get your books cleaned up if you’ve not had solid bookkeeping support in the past.

What the Experts Say About Xendoo

At the time of this review, Xendoo has the following ratings:

  • 4.5 stars at Google (68 reviews)
  • 5/5 stars at G2 (1 review)

The Xendoo team is fantastic! Excellent customer service and expertise. This is the perfect solution for a startup, early stage company or small and medium sized business. You can outsource your A/P, bookkeeping and financial reports to them and they deliver quality reports on a date certain each month at a reasonable price. What I really loved was how proactive they were and how responsive they were. They really helped me research and get to the bottom of certain issues without nickel and diming me. I loved working with Ruth Roman, our bookkeeper, and the whole Xendoo team. I loved the experience and would definitely use them for my other clients.

Bob Fitts, Interim/Fractional COO/CFO – Verified Google review

Working with Xendoo has been an excellent experience. More precisely, my assigned accountant is very well suited, she knows my business, was able to answer all my questions. It is a pleasure working with Xendoo and I would highly recommend to anyone who would benefit from having this service free up more time to run their business.

Ricardo Bertolo – Verified Google review

I was honestly surprised to see the company didn’t have any ratings at TrustPilot, and couldn’t be found on GetApp or Capterra.

QuickBooks Live

Quickbooks Live homepage

You can use QuickBooks with Xendoo. The difference with QuickBooks Live is you’re using QuickBooks with Quickbooks-certified in-house bookkeepers to help you.

Pricing starts at $200/month and scales with your monthly expense volume. This fee is in addition to your QuickBooks Online subscription.

It’s best for small businesses who want to manage books, taxes, payroll, and expenses all in one place with professional support.

Bench

Bench Accounting homepage

Bench accounting is highly similar to Xendoo in that you get a dedicated bookkeeping team and can pay for tax support and catch up bookkeeping services.

The difference is that Bench uses proprietary software instead of QuickBooks Online or Xero. While that could be good, it could also make it harder to take your data with you if you want to go to another service later.

Pricing starts at $249/month and is flat-rate rather than based on your monthly expense volume.

It’s best for small to medium businesses.

Fincent

fincent homepage

Fincent is an AI-powered financial management platform that streamlines your financial management tasks, including bookkeeping, tax filing, invoicing and payments, and expense tracking.

The AI tool allows you to handle bookkeeping to produce real-time financial reports. Pricing starts at $199/month ($179/month with annual billing) and is based on your monthly expense volume.

It’s best for small businesses that are on a budget.
