In my comprehensive Voluum review, I’ll look closely at the software to answer these questions and more.

Designed to optimize your marketing campaigns, track your performance in real time, and scale your business, Voluum promises to be the game changer you’ve been looking for.

So, without further ado, let’s dive into the nuts and bolts to see if it lives up to the hype.

SMB Guide’s Verdict for Voluum

Overall, I give Voluum a 9/10. I didn’t give it a perfect score for two reasons. One, the level of customer support varies depending on the plan you subscribe to.

And, two, the cost is a bit higher than similar tools and could put it out of reach for smaller businesses.

Ad Campaign Tracking

In this screenshot from my demo account, you can see multiple campaigns.

Voluum ad tracking

Clicking the campaign gives you the option to edit it – changing the type of traffic, cost model, how you want traffic to transition between the ad and campaign funnel, etc.

As you set up campaigns, it’s important to learn the difference between a flow and a path. In Voluum, a path determines how and where visitors are directed.

Paths are set by rules, which for example, may direct only visitors that match these specific rules toward the path that contains specific landers or offers.

A flow is a saved path – so you can use the same path setup in multiple campaigns.

Conversion Tracking

In this screenshot from the demo, you can see conversion numbers for each campaign.

Voluum conversion tracking

Clicking the campaign gives you more detail, such as offer notes, click cap, revenue per 1,000 impressions (RPM), and eCPM, or effective cost per thousand impressions.

Since I wasn’t actually running any campaigns, I can’t attest to how well the platform tracks the conversions themselves, but I am confident that it does a good job.

Audience and Traffic Source Analysis

In this screenshot from the demo account, you can see various traffic sources.

Voluum traffic sources

It’s easy to add a traffic source – simply click “Create” and you get a screen that looks like this:

Voluum traffic source options

From there, you can scroll through and click to add the traffic source you want, or use the search box to narrow it down for you. Click “Next”, name your traffic source, choose the workspace, and when you’re finished, click save.

There are several traffic sources built-in to the platform, and if you have any issues, there’s a video link in the top right corner that will help you learn more about how to do it, including how to create a custom traffic source.

Again, because I didn’t have any ads to run, I couldn’t test how well it tracks traffic sources, but from the reports in the demo, I’m confident it works well.

Attribution Modeling

Voluum uses multi-touch attribution, which considers all the interactions users have with various touch points before converting – from ad impressions to clicks and conversions across different channels and devices.

The default attribution model is Last Touch, which associates the conversion with the last touchpoint a user interacted with before conversion.

But, you can use any number of attribution models with Voluum based on your needs, including:

  • First Touch
  • Linear
  • Time Decay
  • Position Based

A/B Testing

Voluum makes it easy to split-test your offers to see what converts best. Start by adding the offers you want to test to Voluum.

Either create your campaign or edit an existing campaign. Within the campaign Offers section, click Add Offer and add the offers you want to test from the drop-down menu, then click Save.

Voluum will distribute traffic evenly across all the offers in the campaign. Once you get traffic volume and conversions, you can check the performance by clicking the campaign, then Report.

Go to the Offers category, look at the data, and determine which did the best, using either ROI or Profit as your indicator.

Once you declare a winner, you can change the traffic volume to direct most of the traffic toward that offer and use the rest to test other offers.

Do this by adjusting the weights on your campaign’s offers or landing pages.

User Interface and User Experience

Voluum dashboard

Above is a screenshot of the main Voluum dashboard in my demo account. As you can see, many menu options exist, but it’s self-explanatory.

The overview data is great because it lets you see how well you’re doing in terms of clicks, conversions, revenue, profit, and earnings per click.

I found the system highly intuitive and easy to use. Plus, if there’s any confusion about it, you always have the option to book a demo with someone on the team who can answer your questions.

Integrations, Compatibility, & Supported Platforms

You can connect a variety of platforms to Voluum using either full integrations with API to collect cost information. This even works in situations where the original platform doesn’t support sending the cost info via token.

Before you can use a full integration, you have to add a traffic source with a template, then integrate with the Automizer feature.

Alternatively, you can use templates for integration since they automatically configure your necessary tracking tokens and parameters, passing information with HTTP requests.

Voluum integrates with ad networks including AdCash, AdOperator, Adsterra, Clickbank, Clickdealer, Exoclick, and many others. It also integrates with social media platforms, iGaming affiliate programs, and major affiliate networks.

If you want to integrate Voluum with Google Analytics, you’ll need to use third-party connectors. At this time, there is no API integration for Snapchat.

Beyond the cloud-based web platform accessible from any device with an internet connection, Voluum has an app for Android and iPhone users, so you can access your campaign information from anywhere.

Customer Support

Voluum customer support can be reached via email or live chat. Response times vary based on the SLA within your plan.

Voluum customer support

You can expect a faster response time on higher tiers than you’d get with the base plans. Voluum also has extensive help documentation and video tutorials to help you set up and manage your account.

Voluum — Unique Features

You can set up Voluum to track using either third-party cookies or first-party data. Since third-party cookies are supposed to be completely blocked in 2024, the ability to pivot to first-party only is important.

Voluum also has tools to help detect bots and invalid traffic, keeping your data as clean and accurate as possible.

Custom notifications for both desktop and mobile can be set up to alert you if there’s a sudden change in performance, so you can make adjustments quickly.
