How we evaluate and test softwares

When testing softwares/apps, SMB Guide employs a dual approach based on free trial availability and demos. For platforms offering free trials, we test their functionalities, usability, navigation, and ease of use. In the case of tools lacking a free version or trial, we rely on in-depth research and user testimonials through software review platforms like G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, Software Advice, and GetApp to gauge their performance and capabilities. Job Posting and Candidate Sourcing

Posting a job via Recruitee is a breeze. It’s a straightforward and easy function to navigate through. With just a few clicks, you can have your job posting up and running with all the information you want to provide, ready to attract top talent from all corners of the digital universe.

Recruitee job posting

Recruitee offers a dedicated Jobs section on the platform where all the magic happens. The Jobs section acts as your own personal command center, giving you one centralized space to view and manage all your active and archived job postings without breaking a sweat.

No more searching high and low for that one application you received from a candidate who speaks three languages and can juggle flaming swords (now that’s a skill we all need).

With Recruitee, you also have the power to decide who gets to see your job posting. You can go full-on public mode, broadcasting the posting across the job boards you would like to display them on.

Or if you’re conducting an intra-company transfer/internal hiring campaign, Recruitee recognizes you’d need a more exclusive approach.

It can generate a private link that you can keep for internal use only, acting like a gatekeeper of sorts for internal company candidates who do view the job posting.

Recruitee jobs section

When you hit “Publish,” Recruitee automatically publishes the job posting on a custom careers site for your business and shares the URL with you.

This concisely displays all the information you filled out for the job posting.

Recruitee publishing jobs

If you want to reach a wider audience automatically, Recruitee gives you the additional option to publish the job posting on platforms like Google for Jobs and Indeed,  increasing your chances of finding and hiring a diamond in the rough.

In addition to this, you can also leverage the power of social media. While publishing the job posting, Recruitee makes it super easy to share your job post on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter to let the world know that you’re on a mission to find the best of the best.

A few more handy features that Recruitee provides for Job Posting are:

  • The Preview Changes feature that lets you see exactly how your job posting will look before it goes live.
  • Duplicate, which acts like a cloning machine if you need to post a similar job.
  • The Archive button for those job postings that have served their purpose but you would like to reference easily later.

Recruitee’s Candidate Sourcing function is also pretty streamlined. After posting a job, you can view the applications that come in for each one and view the pipeline at a glance.

The Pipeline is displayed on a Kanban-style board where you can easily drag and drop the candidates according to where they are in the process.

Recruitee candidate sourcing

If you click on “Job Boards”, you’ll be redirected to a page where you can cross-publish your job posting and reach a wider pool of candidates. It’s like having your own personal billboard on the hiring superhighway.

You can tap into popular job boards, both free and premium, to cast your net even wider. Platforms like LinkedIn, Talent.com, and MyJobHelper are just a few examples of the places where your job posting can reach eager job seekers.

You also have the power to create acquisition campaigns to promote your job on premium channels, which can help get your job in front of the right eyes.

Recruitee job boards

All the potential candidates will show up in the Pipeline, ready for your perusal.

You can sort through candidate profiles on a case-by-case basis. You can carefully evaluate each candidate, weigh their strengths and potential, and make informed decisions about who moves forward in the hiring process.

It’s like playing matchmaker, but for careers.

Recruitee candidate profiles

Universal Search and Candidate Database

Just like the Jobs section, Recruitee offers a dedicated area for Candidates. Consider this very own candidate database that provides a 360-degree view of all the talented individuals you’re considering for your team.

Recruitee candidate database

Now, let’s talk about how you can add candidates to this magical database. Recruitee gives four methods to choose from:

  1. There’s the bulk CV upload which allows you to upload a bunch of resumes you might already have on file with a single swoop.
  2. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can manually add candidates one by one. Just type in their details and any submitted information like their cover letter, hit that save button, and voila!
  3. You can import candidates from a CSV file for more data-heavy recruitment campaigns.
  4. Recruitee also offers the Recruitee Chrome extension for Recruitee Talent Sourcing. With a simple click, you can add candidates directly from LinkedIn, Github, or other platforms.
Recruitee candidate search

The Candidates section also lets you sort and filter candidates based on different parameters. Need to filter by internal company applicants versus external hires for a specific role?

No problemo! Just filter by job status.

Next comes Recruitee’s Universal Search feature. Do you need to locate a specific job posting, an archived application, or a note from a colleague? No problemo!

Just type in your keywords, and watch Recruitee sift through all the data uploaded to your account, irrespective of where it’s classified.

Recruiteee universal search

The Candidates section features its own dedicated search feature. It can help you find a candidate’s name, a specific job title, a skill set, or even a piece of information buried deep within a candidate’s profile.

All you have to do is enter specific keywords and let the database unveil a list of candidates that match your search criteria. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack but without all the hay.

Resume Management and Screening

Recruitee’s resume management functions are easy to use but limited. As mentioned earlier, Recruitee makes it super easy to import existing resumes into the system.

The Recruitee system is designed to auto-fill the information from CVs into the relevant fields of a candidate’s profile in Recruitee.

While this feature reportedly works like a charm, I must be honest—it didn’t quite work smoothly with PDF-based resumes during my tests.

Only the PDFs themselves got attached, but the auto-fill didn’t kick in as expected.

Recruitee resume management

Even though the auto-fill may have quirks, you can still attach resumes as additional files in the candidate profiles.

It’s like keeping a complete dossier of each applicant, making sure you have all the necessary documents in one place.

Recruitee resume

You also have the option to filter candidates in your database for those that have a CV/resume attached and those that don’t.

Recruitee resume filters

However, here’s a little heads-up: while attaching resumes is handy for reference purposes, searches and filters conducted for keywords within the resume won’t work.

So, when it comes to searching for specific information within resumes, Recruitee’s capabilities may not fully meet your needs.

Applicant Tracking and Candidate Management

Recruitee’s candidate and applicant management system is as straightforward as it gets. The heart of the ATS lies within the Candidates section. With just a click on a candidate’s name, you’ll be whisked away to their profile.

Within the candidate’s profile, you have the power to make specific updates to their workflow. Need to send an important email to the candidate?

Just compose your message right within the platform and hit that send button. You can also schedule interviews or coordinate events.

Candidate Evaluation and Assessment

Recruitee’s evaluation features are pretty standard. One of the standout aspects is the ability to incorporate evaluations during the initial screening stage of the job posting process.

This allows you to gather valuable information from candidates right from the start.

Recruitee candidate screening

Recruitee gives you the flexibility to design the initial evaluation in various formats. You can add text-based questions, where candidates can provide detailed responses.

Additionally, you have the option to include Yes/No or Single/Multiple Choice questions. You can even incorporate video answers, allowing candidates to showcase their communication skills, presence, and personality.

Note: The Video Answer feature isn’t currently available if you enable applications to come in through job boards like Indeed.

You also have the option to conduct assessments, score candidates, and leave evaluations directly within their profiles.

It’s like having a virtual evaluation room where you can gather feedback from different team members and make informed decisions about the candidates’ suitability.

User Interface and User Experience

Recruitee’s UI and UX are pleasant and easy to acclimatize to with a simple and aesthetic design that enhances usability and efficiency.

From the moment you log in, you’ll find Recruitee’s interface to be intuitive and easy to navigate. Whether you’re a seasoned recruiter or a hiring novice, the platform’s clean layout and well-organized sections ensure a smooth user experience and a reduced learning curve.

Recruitee dashboard

The Dashboard pages are a true gem within Recruitee’s UI/UX. They provide a comprehensive, bird’s-eye view of everything you’re working on and need to know with tabs for Calendar, Events, Evaluations, Tasks, and Activity.

It’s like having your own personalized command center. With all the important information conveniently presented in one place, you can make informed decisions and keep your hiring process running like a well-oiled machine.

Recruitee also brings simplicity to its onboarding with a “Quick start” option. This handy feature is a tutorial, guiding you through the essentials and helping you get up to speed with the platform in no time.

Recruitee onboarding

Recruitee integrations

Regarding device compatibility, Recruitee is web-based, which means it can be accessed on both macOS and Windows devices.

This flexibility allows you to work seamlessly regardless of your preferred operating system. Recruitee also offers a mobile app for both Android and iPhone devices.

While Recruitee’s mobile apps provide convenience for on-the-go access, it’s worth noting that the user interface is slower and not as versatile as the web app.

The web app remains the powerhouse in terms of functionality and speed.

Customer Support

Recruitee offers various facets of customer support, and you can choose one which you like depending on the communication style you prefer most.

What the Experts Say About Recruitee

Are you wondering what existing users and businesses have to say about Recruitee?

Here’s an at-a-glance view of Recruitee’s ratings on the major software review communities:

  • G2: 4.5/5 (414 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.4/5 (179 reviews)
  • TrustRadius: 8.9/10 (19 reviews)

It’s helped us the most because we do our recruitment on a regular basis. So rather than having all the applications go to your inbox, clogging up your email, and potentially losing really awesome candidates falling through the cracks of all your email mess, it sends all of the applications to one cool app and through the app you’re able to manage the applicants based on the pipeline stage that they’re in, and the actions need to happen with them.

Aislinn K., Marketing Assistant – Verified review from Capterra

I am as happy as can be with this product – I have implemented it in 2 different companies and will probably do the same in the future – everybody was always excited when I pitched Recruitee to them, and even more so when they started using it.
