SMB Guide’s Evaluation Factors for SuperSaaS

When writing this SuperSaaS review, I looked specifically at the following:

Just choose the plan based on your booking volume and budget.

Appointment Workflow Automation

SuperSaaS new schedule wizard

Once you set up the schedule type – Resource Schedule, Capacity Schedule, or Service Schedule – you’ll go through a series of steps to customize the schedule to your needs.

SuperSaaS customizing schedule

You’ll choose whether or not you want to require people to log in to schedule appointments or if you only want staff members to access it.

SuperSaaS naming schedule

In the next step, you choose the name for your schedule. I went with something basic like Classes.

SuperSaaS booking times

In the final step, you choose how many times a slot can be booked at one time – so multiple students can book the class in this case.

You can choose the default time slot, whether or not to offer a waiting list, whether or not to show a calendar, and whether or not to add a price field for accepting payments.

From there, you’ll be given a calendar link to share with your clients. You’ll choose the information you want to collect from people who sign up in another dashboard area.

Customization Options

You’ll handle the customization in the “Process Options” section. Details like this make the user experience less intuitive compared to other tools.

SuperSaaS configuring classes

By default, for a class schedule set up, this is what it looks like:

  1. User goes to [calendar URL]
  2. User is presented with schedule
  3. User enters a new reservation for a slot
  4. Reservation is stored in the database.

Here’s where you’ll be able to control things like the information you collect at reservation, with two additional text field areas to customize as needed.

You can also set things like:

  • Whether users can make repeating reservations
  • Whether to add an ID field to each reservation
  • Whether to require payment or approval with a link to set up payment where you can choose between manual with bank transfers or check, automation with PayPal, Stripe, or Square, or automatic invoicing with either PayPal or Stripe.
  • Adding an online meeting link to the slot – adding the link manually, create Zoom calls, or create Google Meet Calls
  • Whether or not to confirm the reservation via email
  • Where to send the user after creating a successful reservation
  • Whether to send an email or text reminder (and a link to set up SMS reminders) or follow up for the reservation and the time period for the reminder/follow up
  • Set up rules for new or changed reservation notifications
  • Set up rules for how long in advance users can add or change reservations
SuperSaaS class layout options

If you want to be able to customize the look and feel of your calendar, you’ll handle this in the Layout process section.

It allows you to choose things like:

  • Hours visible on the schedule
  • Colors
  • Fields that are shown in list views
  • Available views
  • Whether to allow the calendar as a widget for integration on another website
  • Custom messages shown at:
    • Schedule Title
    • Login Screen
    • Access to Schedule Blocked
    • Checkout Screen
    • Message to add to email confirmations of reservations
    • Message to add to email reminders of reservations
    • Message to add to follow up email.

Calendar Management Features

You’re free to choose how far in advance customers can book or cancel an appointment, as well as how frequently they can book.

SuperSaaS calendar management

You can allow users to make repeat reservations, or make them sign up for a series of classes at once. It includes 34 languages and 26 currencies.

You can integrate it with Google Calendar, iCal, or Outlook, so you can always keep track of your appointments.

With user roles and management, you can allow others to help you manage your schedule, prevent double bookings, and keep any particular staff member from getting overbooked.

Automated Reminders and Notifications

You’ll control the content and timing of the automated reminders and notifications in your account settings.

SuperSaaS automated reminders

You can send appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups, as you deem necessary. It’s email only by default, but you have the option to set up SMS texting.

SuperSaaS sms

The SMS gateway isn’t included in the subscription. You’ll have to use a third-party service and enter those details in the dashboard to make it work.

Client Management and Communication

You have the option to allow users to register on their own, or to register them yourself. There’s only basic information available unless you take the time to add custom fields.

You can click on any user to see their upcoming class history. You’ll set email and text confirmation information and timing in your Process Details.

User Interface and User Experience

The user interface could definitely use some improvement. I found it pretty clunky. Making some simple changes to the menus’ wording would make it far more intuitive.

It did make sense to customize your process and look and feel on different parts, though.

Creating the schedule is the only thing they really walk you through step by step, but there are tutorials available – if you can spot them in your dashboard.

Integrations, Compatibility, & Supported Platforms

Natively, SuperSaas has integrations with:

  • WordPress
  • Joomla
  • Drupal
  • Squarespace
  • Wix
  • Weebly
  • GoDaddy
  • Booking Button
  • Facebook
  • Instagram

  • Apple iCalendar
  • Outlook
  • Microsoft Office 365 Calendar
  • Zoom

  • Integrately
  • Pipedream

There are also plenty of third-party integrations available with integration platforms like Zapier. It is a cloud-based app, so you can access it from any device with an internet connection.

There are no mobile apps available at this time, but you can use your phone’s web browser.

Customer Support

At the time of this review, customer support is limited to email only. You can also submit a feedback form on the website.

SuperSaaS customer support

The website says they aim to respond to feedback within one business day.

SuperSaaS — Unique Features

One of the unique features of this tool is that you can customize it to the event type you need. Many tools don’t allow you to handle one-on-one appointments, group meetings, and reservations within the same platform.

That flexibility is a major reason so many businesses across various industries can benefit from using SuperSaaS.

It’s also really cool that in the payment settings, you can choose to implement a credit system. You can set it up so that each user has a credit level, where positive credit is applied to the next purchase.

Or, you can set it up so that all transactions are done with credit, which the user must obtain before booking. Payment amounts are shown as credits rather than your chosen currency in your payment settings.

What the Experts Say About SuperSaaS

At the time of this review, SuperSaaS had the following ratings:

  • 4.6/5 stars at G2 (80+ reviews)
  • 4.6/5 stars at GetApp (260+ reviews)
  • 4.6/5 stars at Capterra (260+ reviews)

Julie B says, “SuperSaaS Appointment Schedule has made our business so much more efficient. We no longer have to take phone calls or messages from clients. They can simply register online, pay, and book a timeslot whenever they like, day or night. We started with SuperSaaS free monthly package, but as our business is growing, we have changed to a different one. SuperSaaS gives a warning when you are reaching your account limits, and the competitive prices make it easy to simply change packages when needed. Overall, we are very impressed by how easy it is to use SuperSaaS Appointment Schedule and the brilliant customer support.

SMB Guide’s Verdict for SuperSaaS

I’m giving this one an 8/10. It has a lot of good features, and I love that you can adjust the schedule to the type of event you need – so you can use it for one-on-one virtual meetings, in-person meetings, group events, and classes.

But, the user interface is clunky and not exactly intuitive. Plus, you need to use a third-party provider if you want to take advantage of SMS communication.
