Provely is a real-time social proof software that claims to increase conversions anywhere for 30% to 400%. Its plans are very affordable and it’s generally easy to set up and use.
However, it doesn’t have many reviews online, which may leave you wondering whether or not it’s worth investing in.
In this Provely review, we’ll explore its features, pros and cons, and pricing so you can decide whether it’s the right social proof platform for your needs.
SMB Guide’s Verdict for Provely
Based on the scoring factors in the table below, we give Provely a rating of 9.1 out of 10.
Overall, Provely is a user-friendly software with plans that work for just about any budget. However, its capabilities are pretty basic.
This may be a good thing if you’re just looking for a simple way to embed social proof on your website.
However, if you need advanced features like a large template variety, complex display rules, or ROI tracking, Provely leaves a lot to be desired.
Here’s a breakdown of how we scored Provely in each category:

Template Variety and Design Options
Provely comes equipped with 13 different notification templates — but how many you get access to depends entirely on the plan you choose.
You need to be on the Growth plan or higher to get access to all notification templates. On the Starter plan, you can only create 3 notification types, and on the Free plan, you’re limited to just one.
After selecting your notification type, you’ll be able to customize the widget design, including font, location, name/avatar display, sounds and animations, colors, etc.
If you’re code savvy, you can use CSS to further customize your notifications.
Triggering and Display Rules
Provely’s display rules and settings are pretty limited. When creating a new notification, you can choose which device types it’ll be displayed on (desktop, tablet, mobile).
You can also change the position of the notification.
As far as display rules, you can:
- Select which pages on your site the notification will be displayed
- Set a delay for the notification to appear
- Set a display frequency
- Set a limit on the number of notifications shown to users each session
- Choose a date range and minimum number of activities collected before the widget is shown
I’d venture to say that these display settings will be sufficient for most SMBs, but if you’re placing a heavy focus on social proof as part of your marketing strategy, you’re likely going to want to create more advanced rules about if/when/where notifications appear.
Mobile Responsiveness
Provely’s embed codes are responsive, meaning they’ll adjust and look good on just about any screen size or type.
If you wish not to show social proof notifications to your mobile customers, you’ll have the option to toggle that option off in each individual notification’s settings.
Notification Customization
When creating notifications, you can choose whether to show a customer avatar, map thumbnail, or custom image on your widget.
Provely also has several default themes you can choose from to. Aside from that, you can customize:
- Customers’ location format
- Timestamp display
- Whether customers’ real names are displayed
- Toggle sound effect on/off
- Toggle animation effect on/off
- Widget title/body text
- Widget font weight/size/family
- Widget colors
Additionally, you’re able to add CSS code to further customize your notification widgets. Overall, you really have a lot of control over how your notifications look.
The one thing I would note as a potential con is that there’s no way to blanket apply your customization settings across multiple notifications.
One potential workaround for this could be to use the “Clone” function.
User Interface and User Experience
Provely’s interface is pretty bare bones, but that makes it all the more easy to navigate, especially if you’re not tech savvy.
The dashboard displays your click and impression data for the previous 30 days. The bell icon to the left is where you’ll find your notifications.
Notifications are sorted by domain, so it’s really easy to see at a glance what notifications are active for each site.
The user experience when you’re actually creating notifications is also incredibly smooth. All you have to do is walk through the steps and then Provely will generate an embed code so you can add the notification widget to your website.
Integrations and Compatibility
Provely supports dozens of integrations with third-party apps, from CMS platforms, survey builders, page builders, review sites, and more.
Check out Provely’s integrations page for a full list of applications the tool integrates with. Keep in mind that you’ll only be able to take advantage of these integrations on Provely’s paid plans.
Customer Support
I didn’t find many avenues for support on Provely’s website. If you need help, you can submit a ticket to their “Help Center” here.
I couldn’t find a support phone number or knowledge base, but for what it’s worth, users have praised Provely in reviews for their excellent support when they needed help with something.
What the Experts Say About Provely
