SMB Guide’s Verdict for Northbeam

I am giving Northbeam a 9 out of 10. The reason I don’t give it a perfect score is because of the pricing and needing to speak to someone to get customized pricing for smaller websites.

It has lots of useful features and has a good reputation for accurate data tracking.

In this review of Northbeam, I’ve followed SMB Guide’s detailed criteria for evaluating the marketing attribution software.

Pricing & Plans

Northbeam is priced based on the number of monthly pageviews your website gets.

northbeam pricing plans
  • Starter: $1,000 per month up to one million monthly pageviews
  • Professional: $2,500 per month for growing brands
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing for brands with >$250k monthly ad spend

The pricing calculator online indicates that pricing starts at $1,0000/month for sites with one million monthly pageviews.

It scales up to $2,500/month for sites with 1M+ monthly views. If your site has fewer pageviews, you’ll have to contact the team for custom pricing.

The monthly fees are an estimated month-to-month rate based on data refreshes four times a day.

If you want to get access to hourly data refreshes or take advantage of annual discounts, you’ll need to reach out to the Northbeam team.

Features include:

  • Omnichannel dashboards: All your first-party data from all channels in a single place
  • Universal attribution: Multiple attribution models and lookback windows
  • Creative analytics: A visual interface for analyzing ad creatives
  • Customizable reports: Set your preferred report views for quick and easy

Ad Campaign Tracking

Northbeam offers a comprehensive ad campaign tracking solution.

Northbeam ad campaign tracking

It allows you to track your campaigns across different channels and platforms, including organic search, paid search, display ads, social media networks, and more.

I couldn’t perform any tests with this because I could only see a recorded demo.

Conversion Tracking

Northbeam uses conversion paths to know which order of touchpoints lead to the most sales. With it, you can see the exact route that led customers to purchase, including the breakdown of specific campaigns, creatives, etc., that contributed to the revenue.

Audience and Traffic Source Analysis

Northbeam can connect with any social media platform or e-commerce website to track your traffic sources. Reviews say it is among the most accurate of all the ad tracking software.

Attribution Modeling

Northbeam uses elements from multiple attribution models to create a more comprehensive view of the customer journey.

They call it “Universal attribution.”

Northbeam attribution

It combines elements from multiple multi-touch attribution models (linear, clicks only, and clicks and views) so you can get a better view of the customer journey, and helps businesses see which campaigns are ROI positive and which are ROI negative in real-time.

A/B Testing

Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything in the help documentation or the tutorials about split testing, so I wasn’t able to see how it works or if it’s even possible.

User Interface and User Experience

From the demo and tutorial videos, I could see that the Northbeam is pretty easy to navigate and use.

Northbeam dashboard

If you have any issues, you can watch the video tutorials to learn how to use specific features and tools.

Integrations, Compatibility, & Supported Platforms

Northbeam claims it can accurately measure attribution from any data source, with or without a native integration. They also offer what they call “Deeper Integrations”, which will automate the heavy lifting.

You’ll fill out a simple custom spend spreadsheet, and the team takes care of the rest.

Northbeam integrations

Northbeam offers several pre-built integrations to choose from, including: Facebook Ads, Pinterest Ads, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Tiktok Ads, and more.

Customer Support

Though there doesn’t appear to be any phone or live chat support, you can contact the team via email or submit a helpdesk ticket.

There is an extensive knowledge base to help you address a wide range of issues.

You’ll be able to see how to use the dashboards and even watch video tutorials.

Northbeam — Unique Features

The most unique feature I found was the data review feature. It connects you with a team of dedicated expert media buyers, who can help guide you through how to make the most of your ad campaigns.

It’s not something I’ve seen on similar platforms.

What the Experts Say About Northbeam

Unfortunately, there aren’t many mentions of Northbeam on third-party review websites like G2. I checked TrustPilot, Capterra, and GetApp.

TrustPilot and GetApp didn’t even have profiles for the software, and Capterra had a single five-star review.

It was from Victor M., who had this to say:

“We have tried all 5 of the biggest attribution platforms out there and Northbeam’s data is by far the most accurate and consistent. It also updates much more regularly (every hour) then some of the other platforms and works with a variety of marketing channels… not just the big ones.

Some of the visual design is still being refined but they have made big strides in this area in the last year and after talking to their team it is clear that this is an area they are continuing to invest in.

We switched because Hyros data was completely inaccurate when compared to our own internal UTM tracking via MixPanel.”
