SMB Guide’s overall rating for Invoice Simple is 6.9 out of 10.
Here’s the detailed breakdown of the scoring for each factor:

SMB Guide Rating | 6.9 |
In this review of Invoice2go, I’ve followed SMB Guide’s detailed criteria for evaluating invoicing software.
For what it offers, it’s an expensive platform. You have limits (higher if you commit to annual billing) on the two cheaper plans. You can’t send automated invoices, because even if you schedule them on the highest plan, you still have to manually send them when you’re ready.
You can’t get phone support unless you pay for the most expensive plan. The interface does come with a bit of a learning curve, unless you’re fairly computer proficient. There are a lot of complaints about slow customer service, but I like the availability of free resources to help entrepreneurs.
Expense tracking isn’t possible unless you connect it to Quickbooks or Xero, which you can’t do on the cheapest plan.
Pricing & Plans
Invoice2Go comes with a 30-day trial so you can test it. However, you’re still required to enter your payment information to start automatic billing unless you cancel before the end of the trial.
Pricing starts at $5.99/month after the trial. When I signed up to conduct this demo, I was automatically put on the Professional plan, and wasn’t even offered the Starter.

Feature Set & Customization Options
When you sign up, you’ll be allowed to customize your invoices’ design. You’ll choose a template. Then, from there, you can include a logo, with the option to hide your company name.
You can choose from a series of clipart-style logos, or click a button to upload your own. You can add an additional image, to show on certain templates. You can edit the primary color, add a header graphic design from their library, and add a watermark if you want.
You can also customize the invoice options in a separate menu. In the header, you can choose the defaults and add custom fields if needed.
You can customize the table, including the columns you include and the format (to separate parts and labor).
You can add a generic comment to all documents and the terms and conditions in the footer. You can also include a tax summary and a signature line.
You can also change the document headings for things like Net, Bill To, For, Bank Account Number, Routing Number, etc.
You can set the numbering and enter a prefix if desired. This is also where you can reset the numbering if necessary. You can set prefixes for invoices, estimates, credit memos, and purchase order numbers.
And finally, you can set the language for the documents.
Automated Invoicing
Automated or recurring invoicing is only available on the Premium (Unlimited) Plan. If you choose this plan, you can set up recurring invoices to be sent weekly, every two weeks, or monthly.
The platform will remember when invoices should go out and prepare them automatically so you can send them when ready.
Expense Tracking
With Invoice2go, there are advanced reporting tools to show rack unpaid invoices and manage your cash flow. The platform integrates with QuickBooks, Xero, and Freshbooks, but that’s only included on the two higher plans.
Multi-Currency Support
Currency settings are automatically set based on your country setting, but you can manually adjust your currency setting to one of the 150 default currencies.
If you change your currency, all future documents you create and all related account information will use the currency you select. If invoices are in multiple currencies, only the actively set currency will show in your report totals.
According to Invoice2Go support, getting paid in multiple currencies is possible, but the platform isn’t optimized for this, and the data may not be processed correctly. If you need to get paid in multiple currencies, it’s recommended to create multiple Invoice2go accounts to keep data consistent.
User Interface and User Experience
Overall, I found it easy to set up the account and figure out how to create and send invoices. I didn’t spend too much time adding products and clients because I didn’t plan on continuing to use this product.
Once I put in my business information, I picked the template relevant to my business, added my logo, terms and conditions and generic comment, and then sent a test invoice. It took me all of about 10 minutes.
I can see how there’s a bit of a learning curve since the design and invoice customization options are separate, and the account settings are hidden in a different menu, not on the side bar.
Instead, there’s a drop-down menu when you click your company name in the upper right corner.
Integrations and Compatibility
If you have either the Professional or Premium plan, you can integrate Invoice2go with FreshBooks, QuickBooks, or Xero.
Using Zapier, a third-party tool that may require a paid subscription depending on your needs, you can connect it with thousands of other tools, including customer relationship management (CRM), calendar tools, cloud storage, communication tools like email for sending invoices, payroll services, and payment processors.
Invoice2go offers mobile apps for both iOS and Android devices so that you can manage invoicing and business operations on the go. You can create invoices, capture receipts, manage clients, accept payments, track time, and more.
The information syncs across devices so everything is up to date when you come back to your computer.
Customer Support
Invoice2go provides comprehensive customer support to help you get the most of the app. There’s a help center with articles, answers to FAQs, and guides covering a wide range of topics so you can troubleshoot issues on your own. The blog also serves as a helpful resource.
Email support is available for all users if you cannot solve the issue yourself. Premium account holders have access to phone support. I didn’t see any live chat features available.
They have various Facebook communities for audience segments like Female Founders, Small Businesses, and Freelancers.
Invoice2go Academy has a variety of courses to help you with mindset, managing entrepreneur anxiety, and building a personal brand, for example.
Invoice2go — Unique Features
Invoice2go offers fairly standard features for invoicing, but it also offers estimates, purchase orders, and credit memos, making it an option for a wider range of industries compared to some other products on the market today.
It has a number of free tools, including invoice templates, receipt templates, purchase order templates and business plan templates.
