Real-Time Messaging & Canned Responses
Chatra operates on scripted responses and live chat with agents. You’re able to provide information to visitors and ask for information in return.
For example, you may define form fields asking for name, email, phone number, and more. If a customer asks a question that does not have a prewritten response and no agents are online, the bot can be programmed to offer an email response by a live agent.
Live Chat AI & NLP
Chatra offers limited native support in six languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and German.
While it does not have AI assist, live chat is built in and chats from different sources are available on the dashboard. Agents can monitor chat windows in real-time from your website, Shopify, social media sites, and more.
Customizable Chat Widgets
Chatra makes creating your first chat widget incredibly easy. After putting in my email address, I got two emails, one to set a password and one with the code to place my chat widget on my webpage and a link to their installation guide.
Nice touch, emailing the code in case I missed it. The installation guide gives you a few more options for adding your chat widget:
Building the chat widget could not be easier. I like the palette slider; most chat widgets have more limited color options.
Scroll down to the next step, and you input your welcome text. You can choose different texts for when you’re online or off. That’s a neat feature!
Finally, you get to add some additional customizations. The default for these features is enabled:
- Messenger mode – for when agents are offline. If not activated, the widget is hidden when agents are not online
- File upload – You can choose file types visitors are allowed to upload.
- Typing insight – This feature is interesting…it allows agents to see what visitors type before they hit send.
- Mobile button – This feature allows chat on mobile devices.
- Sound – This turns on sound for your visitors.
- Conversation ratings – Want to know what visitors are thinking? Enable ratings.
There are some unique customizations I haven’t seen elsewhere, but one thing missing is a test feature. I did not find any way to test the bot without going live on your website.
I’d really like to know more about those sounds. Naturally, paid chat widgets offer more features and additional customizations.
One of the coolest features with paid accounts is the in-house communications options. Your team can communicate individually and within user groups.
Additionally, you can allow your visitors to select a group to send a message to.
Visitor Tracking and Analytics
Reporting is as simple to use as everything in Chatra. Just click the reporting link on the left sidebar, and check off the dates and fields you want to see in your report.
If you want more than standard information, you can add custom form fields for visitors to fill out in the chatbot.
With paid accounts, you can get team performance information.
Here are the performance metrics you can check:
- The total number of visitors who engaged in chat.
- Completed conversations
- When no one responded to a new conversation request
- Visitors with 30 minutes of inactivity
- Visitors who leave immediately after the agent leaves the conversation. (If the same visitor sends another message after a chat is concluded, it is counted as a new chat)
- Chat ratings and visitor satisfaction.
- The average response time.
- The performance of separate agents
