Template Variety and Design Options
ProveSource offers a limited selection of templates for notifications on the lower tier plans. You get access to all of them on the higher-tier plans.
That said, you still have the option to change colors, which gives plenty of choice and flexibility to match everything to your branding.
This enhances consistency across platforms, which improves brand credibility and the overall customer experience.
You can choose from a variety of options, such as:
- Stream (recent individual actions taken by customers)
- Social counter (show the number of followers, subscribers, and likes you have across your social profiles)
- Reviews (show your positive reviews from Google, Facebook, and other platforms)
- Informational (emphasize important points to your visitors to make them feel comfortable, such as a risk-free guarantee)
- Counter (show the total page visits, conversions, or real-time visitors on your website
- Combo (show a large number of visitors who took a specific action over 24 hours, 7 or 30 days)
Triggering and Display Rules
ProveSource gives you the option to allow users to close the notification or make it a clickable notification. You also have the option to show the notification to all visitors, only new visitors, or only returning visitors.
You can choose to show it only once per session, and how long to display the notification for. You can also choose which pages to display notifications on.
These are fairly basic display customization options compared to some of the other tools available on the market today.
Others allow you to target based on the percentage of a page scrolled, geo-location, etc.
Mobile Responsiveness
You have the option to adjust for mobile devices, but if you do not, it may not be as mobile responsive as you’d like.
This could negatively impact the overall user experience.
Notification Customization
You can change the position of the notification, how you want it to appear on mobile devices, and the color scheme.
You can also choose whether or not you want to make it clickable or allow users to close it. You cannot design notifications from scratch, which is an option on some competing platforms.

Integrations and Compatibility
Integrations appear to be fairly limited – unless you use webhooks with Zapier. Depending on the nature of your integrations, using Zapier may mean paying for a premium plan there – which adds to your overall expenses.
Customer Support
Live chat is available during certain hours. When I sat down to write this review (outside of standard business hours on a Friday), the live chat window said, “Send us a message, we’ll be back online on Sunday,” so I am not really sure when they’re available – it’s certainly not standard USA business hours.
They make it easy to search for help from within that window, and there’s a selection of video tutorials and a link to the help center in the dashboard.
There’s a blog, too, but I couldn’t get it to load because the server took too long to respond. Without being able to read it, I can’t tell if there’s anything there that might help people with the software itself.

I did not find any unique features in ProveSource that weren’t available in other platforms I’ve reviewed in the social proof notification space.
