Real-Time Messaging & Canned Responses

Landbot’s free plan is entirely dependent on scripted responses. If you want to engage the AI service, you’ll need to move to a paid plan.

Once you do, you can use a combination of canned responses for FAQs, interactive AI chat, and live agent participation.

Building your first Landbot chatbot is super easy. Let’s walk through the steps. First, select the type of chatbot you want to build.

Next, start adding blocks. You can add links to FAQ answers, graphics, or text messages to each block.

Success! My first message was generated with no surprises. Depending on the purpose of your chatbot, you can direct the conversation:

• Ask for information such as name and email
• Provide links to FAQs, like hours, address, and directions
• Accept orders or reservations
• Offer troubleshooting
• Display ads or other marketing materials
• Ask returning customers for referrals or ratings

Builder blocks let you choose the type of interaction you want to add at each step:

Variable blocks let you direct targeted answers to people who answer questions in a certain way. For example, you may be marketing Vikings merchandise to Minnesota customers and Dolphins swag to people in South Florida.

You can set your chatbot’s flow to match your brand voice and add your logo or a face to represent your organization. You can also change the colors, fonts, and other appearance elements.

Landbot’s interface is intuitive and easy to learn. Its visual drag-and-drop feature allows you to connect elements like blocks.

A block might contain a greeting, question, answer, suggestion, image, or ad. 

When building your element blocks, you can add conditions to the flowchart to send targeted answers based on the user’s input.

For example, you may want to provide different answers to users based on age or location. Landbot offers a variety of templates with common scenarios and design options, or you can start with a blank bot.

Landbot is really a fun tool to use. Building a bot is super easy, especially with their new Blocks system. I’ve used it on my website to qualify leads – in place of a contact form. I can see myself using it for customer surveys in the future as well. My only wish is that it could integrate with more ESPs (like ActiveCampaign). Right now it only integrates with MailChimp. You can technically integrate through Zapier, but that’s an additional recurring cost that I don’t always want to add. In any case, I’m pretty excited about the future of Landbot!
