SendX is a user-friendly email marketing software ideal for small to medium businesses. It excels in ease of use and affordability but lacks some advanced automation features.
Read on to discover its complete capabilities and limitations.
SMB Guide’s Verdict for SendX
SendX comes in at a 7.75 out of 10 because, though it is affordable and scales nicely, a few things about it had me scratching my head. The fact that you have to set up drip email campaigns outside of automations threw me a bit because it is so different from what seems to be standard across most email marketing software.
The fact that you have to change your email builder settings to use HTML, and can’t just toggle between HTML and drag and drop was irritating. The entire thing could be more streamlined and intuitive.
That said, one thing that sets it apart from the other budget email marketing platforms out there is unlimited emails on all plans. It has solid templates and features, too.

Who it’s for: Any business that needs email marketing
Powerful email marketing software to send campaigns, build your list, and automate your marketing.
Marketing Automation Capabilities
For marketing automation, it appears that you have to set up an Auto Trigger campaign. I find the choice of wording on the menu a little odd, but it was easy enough to figure out.
But the separate Automations menu confused me a bit.
Turns out, the auto-trigger campaign is a separate email campaign and you have to set up the automations you want to use it with first.
So when I go to Automations, I see a lot of options:
These options have a lot of flexibility, but I wasn’t able to figure out how to add a time delay between email messages. Actions include things like adding and deleting tags, adding and deleting contacts, and calling web hooks.
So, I don’t really understand how you can create truly helpful automations without being able to add delays. Further analysis of the software led me to explore the drips campaign – which allows you to select emails and add in time delays.
It works okay, but it seems so different from other email marketing platforms – it’s not as intuitive as it could and should be.
Email Builder
When you set up a new campaign, you can choose between Newsletters, Drips, A/B Split Testing and Auto-Trigger.
For this part of the evaluation, I choose Newsletters, but the auto triggers are just emails that send when the automation trigger condition is met. Drips appear to be automated email campaigns based on segments and tags.
There are a lot of templates to choose from, and the drag-and-drop builder makes it easier to customize your own.
Again, something not as intuitive as with other platforms, is the fact that you can design your own templates with HTML. You have to change to the plain text editor in your settings and then you can upload HTML templates.
You cannot access HTML from the drag and drop editor. I had to figure this out with support materials.
Personalization & Customization
Personalization and customization is fairly easy – you’re given the chance to insert tags in subject lines and email content.
Personalization and customization is fairly easy – you’re given the chance to insert tags in subject lines and email content. Options include: First name, last name, email, company.
It would be nice to see more personalization options, but you can still customize them a bit with tags and segments.
Campaign Performance Tracking
Since I didn’t actually send a campaign, I couldn’t see the actual reports. But, SendX provides several tools to track the performance of your email marketing campaigns effectively:
- Real-time analytics: Monitor open rates, click-through rates, and bounce rates in real-time.
- Engagement metrics: Detailed insights into how recipients interact with your emails.
- A/B testing: Compare different versions of emails to determine what works best.
- Heatmaps: Visualize where users are clicking within your emails.
User Interface and User Experience
The user interface is friendly because it’s clean and fairly easy to figure out. But, it’s honestly not as intuitive as I have seen in other platforms I’ve reviewed.
I’ve already mentioned where those issues are. It didn’t stop me from accomplishing my goals, it just took a bit longer than usual to get it done.
Integrations and Compatibility
SendX offers integrations, but not as many as you’d like as native options. There are only 12 options, including PayPal, Stripe, and Zapier. You can use Zapier to connect it to any apps available through that platform – with 6,000 other options to choose from.
But, depending on the apps you want to connect, you may need a paid Zapier plan to make it happen. There’s also API access if you have access to a developer or know how to code.
Customer Support
SendX offers multiple customer support options, including:
- 24/5 Email Support: Reach out for in-depth queries and receive detailed responses.
- Knowledge Base: Access a comprehensive library of articles, tutorials, and FAQs for self-help.
- Webinars and Training: Participate in regular webinars and training sessions for advanced learning and best practices.
SendX — Unique Features
Even though I ran into a few issues with my SendX experience, I was pleased to see features like:
- Heatmaps: Visualize where recipients click within your emails to optimize content placement.
- Geo-targeting: Deliver personalized content based on the geographical location of your recipients.
- Smart Send: Automatically send emails at the optimal time for each recipient, increasing engagement rates.
- Auto Resend: Automatically resend emails to non-openers with different subject lines to boost open rates.

- GetApp rating: 4.6/5 (33 reviews)
- Trustpilot rating: 3.4/5 (6 reviews)
Very easy to use. You can get up and run in 15 mins. Lots of themes for onsite widgets and pop-ups. The email marketing automation piece is very straight forward to setup. Email Sequences and Rule-based automation makes it a really powerful combination and you virtually create any type of email sequence you can think of. Also, the free tire makes this a killer offering for any SMB.
Mike B. – Verified Capterra review
We are an Ed Tech company. After testing out SendX for 1 month it was clear that this is the right system for us. We went ahead with the full implementation and did a deep integration of SendX with our in house CRM. The tech & support team at their end was very helpful and provided almost instant support for most of our queries. Post this we have been using SendX for nurturing our leads and users based on their category of interest (courses). Finally our marketing automation initiatives are paying off with SendX and we see a clear ROI with them. I would recommend anyone who has a marketing automation use case (like ours – EdTech) to try out SendX

Mailchimp
Mailchimp is renowned for its extensive feature set and scalability, making it ideal for small and large businesses. Its pricing is competitive, but some users find the more advanced features less intuitive.
It is more expensive, with pricing starting at $20/month for 500 contacts and up to 6,000 each month. The good news? The first month is free so you can see how you like it before you commit.

Constant Contact
Constant Contact offers excellent customer support and a solid range of features, particularly for event marketing. However, it lacks the depth of analytics and automation tools found in SendX.
Its starting price point is more expensive than SendX, with pricing ranging from $12 to $80/month, depending on the plan you choose for up to 500 contacts. But it also comes with a free trial.

GetResponse
GetResponse stands out with its comprehensive suite of marketing tools, including landing pages and webinars. It’s a strong contender for those seeking an all-in-one solution, though it can be overwhelming if you’re new to email marketing.
