We rate Customers.ai 6.8 out of 10. Customers.ai is a platform with a ton of marketing and lead-nurturing features. Because it’s not a dedicated live chat/chatbot platform, it can be a bit overwhelming.
As I demoed this software, I was overwhelmed trying to figure it out. It could definitely be more user-friendly. If it’s possible to create and use canned responses, it’s unknown to me how to do it.
Combine this with the fact that customer support is lacking, and I couldn’t even find resources to figure out what I needed to, and that’s why everything scores lower here.

I was really confused about this aspect of the tool until I found the “Old Features” section. I don’t know if that means the features will eventually be going away or if they’ve changed the core focus of this software.
In the old features section, there were a ton of options to create chatbots, but I didn’t see anywhere to create canned responses.
In the Old Features Section, I found both Chat Starters and Dialogue Library, which suggested that I would have access to canned responses – but both took to me to chatbot builders, not canned responses.
This leads me to believe the tool cannot be used for actual live chat.

User Interface and User Experience
I am a fairly tech-savvy person, having spent years reviewing a ton of different SaaS platforms, not just for this website. Even when others find something more difficult to use, I can usually figure it out pretty quickly.
This tool? Not so much. The whole concept of “Old Features” in the menu threw me for a loop. It looks simple at first glance, but when it comes to evaluating the chat bot part, it is such a small piece of the overall product.
I feel like this made the whole experience more complex than it needed to be.
